Connect with The Herd.....

Horsemanship programs that go beyond your basic lessons

We are  Accepting new students for our 2020 programs ADHERING TO OUR COVID SAFE PRACTICES. COMPLETE THE CONTACT FORM ON OUR HOME PAGE FOR MORE INFO.

We offer unmounted as well as mounted private English and modified Western instruction for adults and children that focus on relationship building with the horse-human bond and learning critical non-verbal communication skills that apply beyond the herd.

We are pleased to be the FIRST Horse Discovery Center in Prince George's County as certified by the Maryland Horse Industry Board!

We provide barn tours for a fee to allow curious guests the chance to meet with us and interact with the herd. Please see our BARN TOURS page for details.

We provide PLAY DATES for the smallest riders on our wonderful and engaging ponies to allow children to experience the ponies in a safe and fun way that promotes enjoyment, safety, connection, empathy and basic riding skills.

We provide ground based instruction in agility, round pen and halter; which helps students learn boundaries, non-verbal communication and teaches individuals to tap into themselves, set goals and measure achievements through connectivity with the horses and ponies.

We provide a limited number of mounted lessons for children and adults as well as working with members of the special needs community. Riding lessons focus on caring for the horse or pony before and after the lesson, understanding and empathy, communication and basic skills to be achieved when mounted.

Each and every one of our programs can assist members of our community in dealing with fear, anxiety and many of the other stresses in life. Our programs focus on communication and empathy and allow students to progress at their own pace.
